What a tier list is ranking
A ranking usually describes a build or activity, not an entire class in every situation. Leveling, farming, bossing and endgame pushing can reward different trade-offs.
The official game overview establishes the game and class context, but it does not turn into a current ranking. That is why this page explains the decision rather than inventing a score table.
A safer comparison checklist
Record the season, patch and publication date before comparing two lists.
Ask whether the ranking is for leveling, speed farming, boss damage, group play or endgame pushing.
Check how much the result depends on rare items, high rolls, paragon progress or specialist execution.
